Bowling, Burgers & Beats: A Night Out at Lane7 Manchester

If you’re after a night out in Manchester that’s a bit different from the usual bar or dinner scene, Lane7 on Deansgate is well worth a look…

Set inside the characterful Great Northern Warehouse, this spot offers a fun mix of bowling, games, food, and music—all under one roof. It’s relaxed, a little quirky, and perfect whether you’re out with friends, on a date, planning a work social, or looking for something fun to do with the kids

We were lucky enough to be invited along by the brilliant team at By Parallel Events, and from the moment we stepped inside, we knew we were in for a great time.

A vibrant arcade space featuring pinball machines and retro video games against a backdrop of colorful graffiti walls and dynamic lighting.

First Impressions: Urban Cool with a Hint of Nostalgia

The space has an industrial edge softened by playful touches—neon lights, colourful graffiti, and a soundtrack that sets the mood without shouting over your conversation. It feels like someone’s taken the best bits of a retro arcade and a trendy city bar and rolled them into one.

Bowling, But Not As You Know It

Lane7 has eleven bowling lanes, but this isn’t your standard tenpin setup. You can pick between traditional, premium, and super premium lanes—each with different vibes, lighting and surprises. It’s ideal for everything from friendly competition to a bit of showing off (if you’re lucky enough to get a strike… we weren’t).

And yes—it’s absolutely family-friendly! If you’re bringing little ones, there are lighter bowling balls, lane bumpers, and plenty of games to keep them entertained. It’s a great way to do something a bit different with the kids on a weekend or during school holidays.

Beyond the Lanes: More Than Just Bowling

This is where Lane7 really sets itself apart. There’s a whole world of entertainment tucked into the venue—retro arcade games, pool tables, shuffleboard, ping pong, augmented reality darts, and even shooting pods with a very realistic kick. And if you fancy belting out a few tunes, the private karaoke rooms are a fun option for groups. One of our fellow guests commented that “It’s like someone built your dream games room and handed you the keys for the night”.

Fuel Up: Fat Hippo Burgers & Craft Cocktails

After all the action, food is definitely in order—and Lane7 delivers. Fat Hippo serves up juicy, stacked burgers with all the trimmings, plus some seriously moreish fries and sides. Whether you’re a meat lover or veggie, there’s plenty to choose from. Drinks-wise, the bar has a great mix of cocktails, craft beers, and softs—ideal for toasting a win (or consoling yourself if you’ve been thrashed at darts). plus there’s family-friendly options for the kids too.

The Verdict: A Must-Visit Manchester Hotspot

Why It Works

What stood out the most during our visit—apart from the sheer range of things to do—was the atmosphere. Lane7 has a laid-back feel, but there’s energy in the air. It’s stylish without trying too hard, and the staff strike the perfect balance between helpful and relaxed. Whether you’re popping in for one game or planning a full night of food and fun, you’ll feel right at home.

A huge thank you to By Parallel Events for the invite—it was the perfect reminder that there’s always time for some fun.
