When we were invited to meet the team behind Destination2 as they celebrated their tenth anniversary, we were curious to find out more about one of Cheshire’s biggest travel success stories.
Based in Chester, Destination2 has grown over the past decade into one of the UK’s leading specialists in affordable luxury holidays, offering everything from Dubai and the Maldives to Thailand, Greece and the Caribbean.
One thing genuinely surprised us. I’d always assumed there would be an additional charge for using a travel specialist. After all, if you’re speaking to someone with expert knowledge who can recommend hotels and destinations, you’d expect to pay for that service.
In fact, there isn’t.
The team explained that customers can benefit from their advice and destination expertise without paying a premium for it. Every holiday is also ATOL protected, and the company has earned both Which? Recommended Provider status and the Feefo Platinum Trusted Service Award.
It certainly made us think that if you’re spending a significant amount on a holiday, speaking to someone who knows the destinations inside out is probably no bad thing.
Just as importantly, everyone we met was refreshingly down to earth. It was clear they’re genuinely passionate about travel and helping people find the right holiday, rather than simply selling one.

Celebrating Ten Years with Ten Luxury Offers
To celebrate its tenth anniversary, Destination2 has released a handpicked collection of ten affordable luxury holidays, with departures across 2026 and into 2027.
A few that caught our eye include:
Ikos Dassia, Corfu – from £1,227pp
Five-star luxury on a Blue Flag beach with exceptional dining, beautiful surroundings and the all-inclusive experience Ikos is renowned for. (Having holidayed at Ikos a few times, we can certainly see the appeal.)
The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal – from £669pp
A private beach, expansive pools and an excellent children’s club make this a great option for families looking for a luxury city and beach break. Check out what we thought of AbuDhabi when we visited last October.
Sunprime Kamala Beach, Phuket – from £699pp
An adults-only escape combining golden beaches, yoga, spa treatments and Thai hospitality. On our list!
Sandals Royal Barbados – from £2,199pp Luxury all-inclusive on the beach with superb restaurants and evening entertainment. Can’t beat Barbados, it’s one of our favourite Caribbean stays.
Other destinations featured include Mauritius, St Lucia, Dubai, Crete, Ras Al Khaimah and Corfu, with prices starting from £639 per person.
Whether you’re planning a once-in-a-lifetime trip or simply looking for a little more reassurance when booking a big holiday, it was interesting to learn more about the people behind the business.
