How to make the most of a long-weekend skiing...

With lots of flights around it is easier than ever for you to make the most of a long weekend skiing.

Here are the top 5 resorts I think are the easiest to get to and are manageable both with and without children (so much more relaxing however without!!)

Morzine.

Great for covering lots of grounds as it links into the Port du Soleil area. There are some lovely restaurants such as the L’Etale. And the goat village is definitely with a trip. There are some great apres ski bars including a Folie Douce soon to open…

Les Gets.

A great family option with some lovely hotels.  Try the Hotel Alpina Les Gets, situated in the centre and nect to the Chavannes ski lift. Family Ski operates some nice chalets too. Dining options include L’Outa and La Paika.

Flaine.

Perfect for a long weekend and the Totem Hotel in the centre is fab, with super-modern decor with some cool touches. We have also done Airbnb and there are lots of good apartments right on the slopes. I’ll admit it’s not overly pretty but it is amazingly convenient.

Samoens.

This ski area is really pretty and takes you into Flaine too. We love Milk & Honey but for more local restaurants and maps of the area, follow this link.

Avoriaz.

Linked to the Porte Du Soleil area, Morzine, Les Gets and Flain, there are no cars in this resort which is very purpose-built but super high so a great option if you are going later in the season.

Chamonix.

A lovely town but it is good to have a car to get around as it is more spread out. Argentiere is a great place to base yourself and ski in and ski out. There are some great nightlife options too.

ONE LAST THING:
We couldn’t live without Alpybus, who get us up (and down) the mountain from Geneva.
