Review: Cotswold Remedies Collagen Boost Face Oil

First, let me tell you a little about the company:

Cotswold Remedies started as a passionate hobby in founder, Helen Ray’s Cheltenham kitchen. Finding herself time rich thanks to lockdown she followed her dream and retrained in organic skincare formulation.

As a busy mum of two girls, juggling work and family life, Helen was always looking for the best products on the market to keep her skin looking great as she grew older. (Aren’t we all?) She wanted products that would keep her skin strong and supple as she entered her 40s but not blow the budget or require a complicated 10-step routine. And that is the story of Cotswold Remedies.

About the product:

It is 100% natural, 83.6% organic, vegan-friendly and priced at £22, affordable. It also promises to be age-defying but also skin-balancing thanks to its unique blend of base oils from camellia, grapeseed and macadamia, and extracts of organic carrot, sea buckthorn and marine algae, along with vitamin E. Full list of ingredients, here.

Use 4-5 drops, morning and night, after cleansing and massage over face and neck.

What do we think?

It smells like it’s good for you. With essential oils like lavender, geranium, clove, wild chamomile, eucalyptus, peppermint and blood orange peel in the blend, you can understand why. Husband even asked if I had a new perfume.

It’s lightweight. When you say oil you think oily but this just sinks in leaving a natural glow rather than a greasy mask.

Skin looks and feels plumper. And people have commented on it, so it is definitely doing something right. The laughter lines around my eyes haven’t altered much I don’t think, but I think I would probably have to bathe in the stuff for that to happen! There is a marked difference in the moisture and health of my skin, plumper, and more youthful in appearance.

Easy-to-use. After cleansing, it’s a quick application, easy to absorb and off you go.

Gentle. Having a fairly recent scar, I was interested to learn that the lavender oil has anti-inflammatory properties and can help improve some scarring.

The verdict? It’s a staple in my beauty regime.
