Visualise your space:
Before you start organising, take the time to envision what you want your space to look like. This will help you focus on your goals and make the organising process more efficient and fun.
Break it down:
Don’t try to tackle your entire space at once. Break it down into smaller, bite-sized manageable tasks.
Get rid of unnecessary items:
Go through your space and remove anything you no longer need or use. This will make it easier to organise the remaining items.
Use the Pomodoro Technique:
The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method that can be used to increase productivity. Set a timer for 25 minutes and focus on one task during that time. Take a break and then repeat.
Group like for like items together:
A tip from the Queen herself Marie Kondo this one. So when organizing, if you group similar items together it will make it easier to find what you’re looking for and keep things in order.
Use storage containers:
Invest in storage containers to keep items organised and easy-to-find.
Label everything:
Label your storage containers and shelves so you can quickly identify what’s inside works particularly well with kids and husbands this one!
As the saying goes, ‘have a place for everything and everything in its place’:
Assign a specific place for everything in your space. This will make it easier to put things away and keep them organised.
Set up a maintenance schedule:
Once your space is organised, set up a schedule for maintaining it. This will help you keep it organized and avoid clutter from building up again. This dosen’t have to be timely, it could be sort the kitchen utensil drawer whilst the kettle is boiling! Get creative.
Be realistic:
When setting your goals and organising, be realistic about what you can accomplish. Don’t set yourself up for failure by trying to do too much at once.
