I’ll be honest… I didn’t expect to become this obsessed with a bottle of honey.
But somewhere between a rushed weekday breakfast and a last-minute “what can I throw together for guests?” moment, this squeezy Manuka honey with ginger has quietly become one of those kitchen staples I now reach for without thinking.
Partly because of the flavour, that gentle warmth from the ginger, balanced with the richness of the honey but also because it’s so easy. No sticky spoons, no wrestling with a jar when you’re mid-cooking. Just a quick drizzle and you instantly feel like you’ve elevated whatever you’re making.
And that’s where it surprised me most… it’s far more versatile than I expected.
Here are a few of the unexpected ways I’ve been using it lately:

1. A drizzle that transforms your morning
We all know honey works on toast or porridge, but this takes things up a notch. I’ve been adding it to thick yoghurt with fruit and granola, and it instantly feels like something you’d be served at a boutique hotel breakfast.
The squeezy bottle makes it effortless, that quick zig-zag drizzle just looks better, which somehow makes the whole thing feel more put together (even on a school-run morning).
2. The easiest salad dressing upgrade
This has been a game-changer. A little olive oil, a splash of vinegar, and a squeeze of the honey, job done.
The ginger adds a subtle kick that makes even the simplest salad feel more considered. And because it’s so easy to control, you’re not overdoing it just enough to balance everything beautifully.
3. A last-minute glaze that feels impressive
I’ve used it brushed over salmon before baking, and also over roasted carrots and parsnips.
It caramelises slightly, adds depth, and gives that “I’ve made an effort” finish when in reality it took seconds. BIG win. Again, the squeezy element really comes into its own here. No faffing, just straight into the pan or over the tray.
4. The secret to a better cheese board
This might be my favourite.
A small drizzle over a wedge of brie or a hard cheese, and suddenly your grazing board feels far more elevated. If you’re hosting (or even just pulling something together quickly), it’s such an easy win.

5. A simple daily ritual
I’ve also been stirring it into hot water with lemon, especially in the afternoons when I want something soothing but not another coffee. And especially when everyone seems to have a lurgy of some kind or another.
There’s something about the combination of Manuka honey and ginger that feels both comforting and purposeful. Not overcomplicated, just a small habit that fits easily into a busy day.
