Q&A with Kate Brinklow, food educator and half of The Mini Makery

How would you describe yourself?

I am a food educator who gets to play, make and have fun inspiring the next generation. I’m high energy, obsessed with podcasts, and I love to be active and around people. I am one half of The Mini Makery with Ellie Pennington.

Who is your hero?

My mum. She taught me what is important in life and she knew how to raise strong girls.

What is the favourite thing about your life/career?

Having a job I absolutely love and being able to spend time with friends and family. The balance is perfect.

What makes you laugh the most?

The one-liners in Veep.

If you could choose to do or be anything for a day, what would that be?

I would love to be a perfumier in a Parisian lab for the day. I have an acute sense of smell, which is a blessing and a curse!

 

If you were Queen of your own country, what would be the first law you would introduce?

I’d ban ultra-processed foods.

What is your pet peeve?

People who don’t indicate on roundabouts.

Do you h ave a family motto or life lesson you would like to share with us?

A sense of humour will get you through anything.
