Make-up artist, Kudzi, shares her top tips for make-up that lasts all day.
1. PREP YOUR SKIN
Skin prep is super important for how your make-up will look, feel and last. Now, I don’t just mean washing your face and putting on some moisturiser. You want to give your skin the TLC it deserves!
On a cleansed face I always start with a toner, then follow with a serum, then an eye cream or serum, then a moisturiser and finally, I put on SPF 50 and finish off my skin prep with some setting spray. It’s very important to wear sun protection every day especially if you are out and about all day. My favourite SPF to use is the Charlotte Tilbury Invisible UV Flawless Pore-less Primer.
To go the extra step with skin prep you can always do a little face mask after cleansing your face, this is something I do for all my brides!
Tip:
Always massage your products into your skin in upward motions. Never drag the skin down. Also, tailor your skincare products to your skin type and needs.

2. LAYER YOUR MAKE-UP
Now I know this sounds scary to a lot of people but, when I say layer your make-up I don’t mean put loads on. I always start with all my liquid or cream products then go over those with their powder versions.
Doing this is going to ensure that even if you accidentally touch your face all your make-up isn’t just coming off easily.
Tip:
Use a colour corrector before your foundation and concealer to cover any red spots or discolouration.
3. A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY
When it comes to actually putting on your make-up try not to be too heavy-handed as this will probably result in your make-up looking caked. Remember it’s easier to add more make-up than it is to take it away.
Tip:
Put your make-up on the back of your hand before applying it to your face if you struggle with being heavy-handed.

4. SPRAY POWDER SPRAY
After your liquid/cream products make sure everything is blended properly then spray your face with some setting spray and let it sit for a little bit. Once the setting spray is almost dry is when I start pressing my powder products into my face. Once all your powder products are on spray one last time to seal everything in and you are done.
These steps work for me all the time and I hardly have to top up my make-up throughout the day. I hope this helps you but remember that everyone’s skin is different and don’t be afraid to try new techniques until you find what works for you.
