Dedicated foodie, sharing her love of all things food and…
The other day my daughter was desperate for me to do some Hallowe’en baking and decorating with her but we life has been a bit busy and there was no time for baking. So, we hit the shops and came up with the following.
We made a trip to Waitrose which has a really good selection of seasonal baking goodies, we discovered. We grabbed some plain, ready-made cupcakes (£1 for 12). Annoyingly they don’t sell plain gingerbread men and we had to make do with Organix for babies’ mini gingerbreads. However, Sainsbury’s does 30 for £2.
We then hit the baking isle for Hallowe’en icing, sprinkles, food colouring, sugar webs, and all-important googly eyes. You could also order all the decorating items on Amazon if you don’t need them immediately.
We had planned a weekend trip to Granny’s so we took everything with us and got stuck in! Much fun was had by all with much less stress as I didn’t have to make anything – but by all means, feel free to bake your own cupcakes and gingerbread men!
I also saw some really cute ideas for trick-or-treating or even for favours at a Hallowe’en tea party. Get some white paper cups and draw some faces on and stuff them with sweets! Give them out to trick-or-treaters or hide them in among Hallowe’en decs!
