Recipe: Greek Style Lamb Burger

Juicy lamb meets creamy feta and a hit of black olive for bold, irresistible Mediterranean flavour.

Serves 2  

Preparation time:     10 minutes

Cooking time:  10 – 12  minutes  

Allergens: Gluten (unless using gluten free burger buns), Dairy

Ingredients 

  • 300g lamb mince 
  • ¼ tsp dried oregano 
  • 1 garlic clove, minced 
  • Salt and freshly milled black pepper 
  • 2 burger buns of your choice 
  • 2–3 tbsp Opies Red Onion Chutney 
  • 40g feta cheese 
  • 5 Opies Black Pitted Olives, chopped 
  • 4 slices tomato 
  • Crisp lettuce 

Method 

  1. In a bowl, mix the lamb mince with oregano, garlic, and a pinch of salt and pepper.  
  1. Divide into two portions and shape each into a ball. Flatten between lightly oiled parchment paper to form patties. Chill in the fridge while preparing other ingredients. 
  1. Heat a griddle, frying pan, or BBQ to high. Cook the burgers for 4–5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. 
  1. Lightly toast the insides of the burger buns. 
  1. To assemble, spread the base of each bun with Opies Red Onion Chutney. Add the burger, then crumble over feta, sprinkle with chopped olives, add tomato slices and lettuce. 
  1. Finish with another spoonful of chutney on the top bun and serve immediately.
