Begin your adventure in Kaleiçi, Antalya’s enchanting old town. This well-preserved historic quarter is a tapestry of winding cobblestone streets, Ottoman-era houses, local craft shops, bars and restaurants, and ancient ruins. Start your morning with a leisurely stroll through Hadrian’s Gate, an imposing Roman structure that signals your step into antiquity. Explore the Yivli Minare Mosque, a stunning example of Seljuk architecture, and don’t miss the harbour’s panoramic views—perfect for capturing the essence of the Mediterranean.
After soaking in the history, retreat to the serene comfort of Playa Kemer, a wonderful Corendon hotel, a half hour drive south of Antalya. It features beautifully designed rooms with modern amenities and a really lovely chilled atmosphere. Its ultra all inclusive concept provides 24 hour bars and restaurants: choose from the amazing buffet at the Zephyrantes Main Restaurant, where there is so much choice you could eat there every day and never have the same thing twice, or go for the a la carte choices at the Food Court, Bona Fides or Pier seafood restaurants. There’s also an ice cream and patisserie bar which is also open 24/7.
Unwind by the pool, or in a cabana on the sands, where you can sip on a chilled drink while soaking up the sun and revelling in the tranquil setting. With attentive service beside the turquoise sea, it’s the ideal place to recharge.
For the active there’s the spa and wellness centre, tennis club and water sports, while the entertainments team provide a programme of live entertainment including music and dance performances and theatrical shows such as Moulin Rouge.
As the sun sets, make your way to one of Antalya’s renowned seaside restaurants to indulge in the region’s culinary offerings. There are lots of traditional Turkish mezze restaurants providing a selection of small plates offering a taste of local culture and ingredients—from spicy ezme, a salad made from tomatoes, spicy peppers and red pepper paste, to cacık, a refreshing yogurt and cucumber dish.
With its rich history, luxurious accommodation, and delectable cuisine, exploring Antalya in just 48 hours offers a perfect blend of adventure and leisure and is worth doing as the flight is circa four hours and Corendon Airlines has lots of availability at great prices, from Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Newcastle, Glasgow, and London airports too.
It has super comfortable seating, the plane was very clean and the in-flight meal in both directions was fresh with a really nice crisp fresh salad. They also serve good coffee!
