How would you describe yourself (and what you do)?
I am a Matrimonial Solicitor at Ward Hadaway LLP and my day-to-day involves advising on all things family law, including divorce and civil partnership dissolutions, the financial aspects of a separation, pre-nuptial, post nuptial and cohabitation agreements, private children disputes and surrogacy and fertility law.
I chose a career in family law as I am, and have always been, a ‘people person’. I enjoy being able to offer people legal protection and helping people combat challenging times.
Who is your hero?
My grandparents are my heroes. They are always so positive and have taught me that being grateful for what you have is a solid foundation for a happy life.
What is your favourite thing about your career?
Having the opportunity to help people navigate the most stressful and emotionally challenging periods of their lives is a privilege. It is hugely rewarding helping a client along their journey and seeing the transformation in that individual from when they first come to you with their issue to the end of the road when everything is resolved and you are wishing them the best for the next chapter of their life. Aside from the obvious (applying the legal expertise) much of my career involves building relationships and fulfilling the role of a friend to my clients.
What/who makes you laugh the most?
Michael McIntyre always provides some proper laughs!
If you could choose to do/be anything for a day, what would it be?
Simply spending the day with my loved ones would be at the top of my wish list, preferably sat outside in the sun with a glass of fizz and some tasty snacks!
If you were Queen of your own country, what would be the first law you would introduce?
Everyone would have to smile at and say something nice to a stranger every day.
What is your pet peeve?
Mess! I love living and working in a clean and tidy space.
Do you have a family motto or life lesson you would like to share with us?
It’s nothing profound, but I do believe that everything happens for a reason.
What is the last book you read?
I recently re-read The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini and it was even better the second time around.
And the last song you sang to?
Bejeweled by Taylor Swift… (watch clips of this song from TS’s Era’s tour if you appreciate anything that sparkles and prepare to be wowed by the twinkling lights!)
