We’re a granola household.
Mornings tend to be a bit of a juggle, so anything that feels quick and satisfying earns its place pretty quickly. A good granola, for us, is non-negotiable. Something with crunch, a bit of substance, and ideally not overly sweet.
So when Chester-based Bio&Me, founded by The Gut Health Doctor Dr Megan Rossi, sent us their new Pistachio & Vanilla Low Sugar Granola, I was keen to try it.

Pistachio is definitely having a moment, but this feels like more than just a trend-led launch. The granola is packed with 14 plant-based ingredients, including pistachios, chia seeds, coconut, dates… and yes, carrots.
I’ll admit, I wasn’t entirely convinced about the carrot element. But actually? It works. There’s no obvious “carrot flavour” just a subtle sweetness and a really satisfying texture.
And that’s what stood out most. The crunch.
It holds its own with yoghurt (always a good test), doesn’t disappear into mush, and feels like proper food rather than something overly processed or sugary. It’s one of those breakfasts that keeps you going without thinking about snacks an hour later.
More importantly, it passed the toughest test in our house – my 7-year-old, who happily tucked in without questioning a single ingredient (a small miracle in itself).
We’ve mostly been having it simply: spooned over thick yoghurt, sometimes with fruit, sometimes just as it is. Easy, quick, and actually something to look forward to.

We also tried the Cacao Protein Bars, which became a go-to for mornings on the run. (Note to self, must add to the shopping list) Not overly sweet, nicely filling, and a good back-up when breakfast needs to happen in the car.
Bio&Me has always been rooted in gut health, with a focus on fibre and plant diversity, but it doesn’t feel like “health food” in the traditional sense. It just tastes good. And really, that’s the point.
Because if breakfast is something you actually enjoy, you’re far more likely to stick with it.
