A new type of retreat has opened in Portugal, one that specialises in longevity and ageing 'better'...
Bluceira is a new type of retreat that offers a unique approach to holidaying with a focus on improving the quality of life for seniors. Inspired by the principles of the blue zones and the picturesque beauty of Ericeira, Bluceira is the realisation of a dream by founders and lifelong friends, Amélie Roujou de Boubée and Antonie Debuse, who have combined their personal and professional experiences to create this longevity project aimed at those over 50, who are interested in longevity and eager to age better.
Bluceira is founded on a positive holistic approach to ageing and follows three core principles:
Being Active: Professional coaches lead daily physical activity sessions to enhance mobility, flexibility, balance, and muscle strengthening,
Eating Well: Private chefs prepare all the meals, celebrating fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Meaningful Social Interactions: The role of the community in improving the quality of life is essential. Bluceira offers daily workshops and activities to promote and facilitate exchanges with the various local communities.
Bluceira’s retreats promise to offer to change our perspective on ageing, to not let preconceived ideas shape how we age and to get a taste, over 3 weeks, of all the possibilities that the coming years have to offer.
The retreats are held at two carefully selected venues: Quinta Raposeiros and The Long Barn, both locations provide comfortable accommodations and are surrounded by natural beauty, designed to offer relaxation and sense of freedom.
