We are all feeling the pinch this Christmas and with the rising cost of living, something as historically expensive as Christmas can cause a sense of panic.
But if you are clever, creative and crafty it is completely possible to transform your home into a winter wonderland full of festive cheer without spending a fortune. Think outside of the box, reuse and recycle and get out into nature this Christmas to help create your perfect festive home this Christmas.
Here are my top tips:
#1 Fairy lights everywhere!
Don’t restrict the use of fairy lights just to the tree. Most households have more than one bundle lying around so make use of these sparkling lights by draping them around mirrors, door frames, and even as part of your table scheme to bring that touch of magic to your home.

#2 Get Foraging.
This is the perfect time of the year to collect pinecones and fallen branches from local public woodlands. Try spray painting them in silvers and golds for a glamourous look or leave them in their natural state for a more rustic style. Use these to decorate your mantlepiece or even make your own Christmas door wreath.

#3 Dress the Christmas Table.
Transform your table into an elegant Christmas setting with simple touches such as dotting beautiful baubles amongst the wine glasses and tying Christmas ribbon around your napkins to add that finishing touch.

#4 Baubles Galore.
Visit your local charity shops and flea markets to create a beautiful collection of vintage baubles which can then be displayed in a decorative bowl in your hallway, or as part of your table decoration, for a truly unique feel.

#5 Decorate your Staircase in Style.
One of the biggest impact areas to decorate is the staircase although it can be tricky to work out how to attach all your decorations. My top tip is to use zip ties or twine to attach your garland (real or faux) to your staircase, at the base of the baluster to you can still use the banister. Then hang baubles, paper snowflakes or other decorative ornaments from the banister with Christmas ribbon to create a truly magical festive staircase.
