A thoughtful new addition to Cheshire’s creative landscape is on the horizon.

E2 Art Gallery, co-founded by artist Elizabeth Macdonald and interior consultant Emma Maxwell, is set to open its doors at Chattels in Chester on 1st August, offering a curated experience where contemporary art and interior design meet in considered harmony.

Ahead of the launch, we were invited to a pre-opening summer gathering in Overton. The setting was informal and elegant, a reflection of the gallery’s ethos: making art feel not only accessible but integral to the way we live.

The event brought together a small group of guests for an afternoon of visual inspiration, with contemporary artworks displayed alongside a fashion pop-up from Abi Fisher. Rather than a traditional gallery feel, the pieces were presented within a relaxed, residential-style setting giving a clear sense of how art might sit naturally within real homes.

Emma (Macdonald) and Emma (Maxwell) share a vision that challenges the idea of art as something separate from our interiors. E2 will offer not just exhibitions, but a curated approach to how artwork can enhance and elevate everyday spaces.
